Document the 10-day party of the Polish  artistic Bohemia at the Jazz Camping in Kalatowki shelter in Tatra mountains in the spring of 1959.

The party was attended by the band Jazz Believer, and many jazz musicians of that era, among others: Jan Zylber, Jan Borkowski, Krzysztof Komeda, Jerzy Duduś Matuszkiewicz, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Andrzej Trzaskowski, Wojciech Karolak, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski; as well as Polish movie stars: Roman Polański, Barbara Kwiatkowska, Teresa Tuszyńska and Maria Wachowiak.

“Jazz Camping” is an extraordinary picture that captures the artistic atmosphere of the 1950s - a fascination with the music and subculture of American jazz with simultaneous attachment to the Polish musical tradition.

In addition to celebration of Roman Polanski’s birthday, the entertainment included dancing to jazz music, joint performances with a gypsy band, a pyjama-party, chair racing, sliding down a hill in bowls and using toilet lids as shields in snowball fighting…
