About:
Loud Jazz Band is an electric jazz ensemble, situated in the Oslo area, founded and led by guitarist and composer Miroslaw ”Carlos” Kaczmarczyk.
This is jazz, with rock and progressive elements. The strong, beautiful melodies are inspired by the Norwegian nature and memories of Poland.
After noteworthy success in Poland, including award nominations for the first album "4 ever 2 U", and several live performances including playing support for Mike Stern, Carlos moved to Norway and founded a ”Norwegian edition” of the Loud Jazz Band in 1999. Featuring an impressive line up of both Norwegian and Polish musicians, LJB “Norwegian edition’s” first two albums "Don’t Stop the train" and "The Way to Salina" has received good reviews and attention in a number of magazines.
"...it`s a band that occupying the middle ground of jazz, have devised an original, free flowing style that doesn't set out to impress with notes flying all over the place, but make their point through a strong, melodic writing, dynamics and a good use of tension and release."
- Stuart Nicholson - Jazzwise/oct 2005
"...it oscillates somewhere among the Scandinavian space, the romantic Slavic soul, the energy of pulsating internal emotions and beautiful lyrical ballads. "The Way To Salina" is a record for anyone. You don`t have to be a sophisticated jazz expert;it`s enough if you are a sensible human being to let "Carlos" guide you through the world of music stories. The album advocates the musical maturity of it`s creator as well as the musicians taking part in the recording... The new record of Loud Jazz Band is a windfall for those who want to stop for a moment."
- Krzysztof Kuczkowski - Gitara i Bas/march 2005
