*****
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the sad death of the phenomenal world-renowned violinist Zbigniew Seifert jazz. Zbyszek was my friend and one of my first teachers of jazz. I also had the honor to play with him and record a live album "Kilimanjaro". So I thought that this 30 anniversary is an appropriate moment to recall how an exceptional musician he was, and how original was music he wrote. The concept album is simple. I chose eight compositions by Seifert, arranged and recorded them with my band and then invited some of the greatest jazz violinists in the world and in Poland, so that everyone have played one song. If those recordings will re-introduce the music and Zbigniew Seifert to the world, then the goal of all musicians who honorably participated in the recording, will be achieved. (Jarek Smietana)
