The origins of the band known today as Kapela Wladyslawa Pogody go back in 1960. It was then when Jan Ksiazek of Ostrow Baranowski assembled a group of experienced folk musicians with whom he created the first local folk band. The line-up included Jan Ksiazek - violin and vocals, Wladyslaw Pogoda - second violin, Francis Babiarz - clarinet, and Jan Durek - bass. This line-up lasted until 1965.
In 1972, Jan Ksiazek re-established the band around County Cultural Center in Kolbuszowa, which line-up was similar to previous version; and featured clarinetist Jerzy Wrona. The band also included accordionist Ryszard Wrona. The group performed at numerous concerts and made recording s for Polish Radio Rzeszów.
1980s and 1990s brought more changes and new musicians, including addition of female vocalists.
Today, the band continues performing life concerts, wins various contests, records new album, and frequently appears in the media, making Kolbuszowa region famous at home and abroad. Its repertoire are original tunes from the Kolbuszowa area, such as: polka, tramelka, oberek, wedding songs, and waltzes.
